DAPHNE, Ala.—The city of Daphne reports that for the first two months of the new fiscal year, revenue collections have been around 6 percent higher than what was expected.
The city expected to collect around $20.3 million in revenue in 2011, and Councilman Ron Scott said the first month the city collected around 4.5 percent more than what was expected and the second month it collected around 7 percent more than what was expected.
'We are around $100,000 ahead of our budget on what we projected revenue to be," Scott said, adding that the city could see an extra $750,000 in revenue brought in if the collections stay at the same rate.
