DAPHNE, Ala.—Long-time Daphne resident Mickey Boykin, president of the Old Methodist Church of Daphne Museum, was honored at Monday’s council meeting with a proclamation from the mayor.
“This proclamation is for all the time and effort Mrs. Boykin put into the Daphne museum,” Mayor Fred Small said. “This is very well deserved.”
Volunteers of the museum came to show support for their president.
Boykin said she felt “like a movie star getting an Oscar (award),” and she hopes residents of the Jubilee City come to visit the museum if they haven’t yet.
“It’s well worth your time to go visit,” Small said.
The museum is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and by appointment.
