MOBILE, Ala. — Three Daphne High School students had top 12 finishes in the Port City Pacers nationally acclaimed 34th annual Azalea Trail Run that took place in the streets of Old Mobile on March 26.
Daphne High Freshman Rebecca Pober took home a first place in the 10K women’s 10-14 age category. Sophomore Alexander Guillory finished second in the men’s 10K age 15-19 category. Both Ms. Pober and Mr. Guillory will receive medals for their first-and second-place victories. Zach Murphy, a Daphne High School Sophomore, placed 12th in the men’s 10K 15-19-age category. All three students are members of the Daphne High School Track and Field and Cross Country teams.
The Azalea Trail Run is one of the premier 10K road races in the United States. The course is flat and extremely fast.
The event draws an international field of competitors ranging from world-class athletes and wheel chair athletes to recreational runners and walkers.
Thousands participated in this year’s road race.
