MOBILE – The Daphne Trojan varsity opened the 2010 football season with a 21-21 draw against Davidson in two 12-minute preseason quarters at Archbishop Lipscomb Stadium Friday.

The junior varsities played the second half to a 6-6 finish.

"Played hard, played against a good team and did some good things and found out we have some things to improve on as well," Daphne head coach Glenn Vickery said. "That's why they call it a preseason game. But we're looking to get better."

Davidson head coach Fred Riley also said the sneak-peak match up served its purpose.

"I think both teams got a lot out of the ball game. Whenever you can play a quality opponent in a preseason game where both staffs know what's trying to be accomplished you can get a lot done."
