DAPHNE, Ala.— After three months of renovations and remodels, shoppers at the Daphne Walmart will be able to see the finished product. The store will have a grand re-opening ceremony June 3 at 7:30 a.m.
The ceremony will include the presentation of grants from the Walmart Foundation to local organizations, including Daphne and Spanish Fort fire departments, Daphne Police Department, Daphne High School and Spanish Fort Elementary School.
According to store manager Porter Dunlap, the newly remodeled store will provide shoppers with a better shopping experience. Improvements made to the store include better lighting, a new layout that has grouped departments shoppers use the most together for easier access, wider aisles, a bright paint scheme and easy-to-read signage.
“We listened to our customers and have redesigned the store to make shopping at Walmart even easier,” Dunlap stated in a press release. “The new layout is easier to navigate, which will save our customers time as they shop for necessities.”
Because of the remodel, the Daphne store has also expanded its electronic department and will carry more items.
In addition, a “Celebration Station” department has been added to the store layout that will have party supplies.
