Daphne’s Coffee with the Mayor event to focus on homelessness in Baldwin County

Posted

DAPHNE, Ala.—This month's Coffee with the Mayor is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 27 in Daphne City Hall, and McKemie Place, a Mobile-based homeless shelter for women, will give information about its facility and homelessness in Baldwin County.

Women go to the facility in the evening, receive food and a bed and then are out the next morning.

“I’ll be speaking regarding the shelter, the renovations that we’ve done and what our long-time goals are … and just a general overview of what McKemie Place is and what we do and how others can get involved to help,” Christine Greene, shelter manager, said.

The shelter serves homeless women in Washington County, Mobile County and Baldwin County.

Coffee with the Mayor happens on the last Thursday of every other month at 8:30 a.m. in City Hall.
