Dart Sharon Mixon, 75, a lifetime resident of the White House Fork community of Bay Minette, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 10, 2015.
He was a member of the volunteer fire department, the L.A. Bass Club, and the Shriners.
He worked as a mechanic at Grady Buick and was employed by Baldwin County Public Schools as a maintenance engineer for Delta Elementary.
He was a very proud “Poppa” to his children.
Sharon enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family, and served his community with joy.
He was a member of the White House Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He overcame many health issues, and his family was very thankful God allowed them a little extra time to love him and make countless longlasting memories.
He is survived by a son, Michael (Paige) Mixon of Satsuma; two daughters, Tracey (Todd) Edge of Saraland and Tammi Thames of Saraland; a sister, Peggy (Larry) Patton of White House Fork; special friend, Judy Hodgen of Crossroads; eight grandchildren, Morgan, Cole, Tanner and Darby Edge, Jordan and Zachary Mixon, and Connor and Presley Thames.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Mixon and Julian Mixon; and two sisters, Lurleen Quinley and Edith Rae Meek.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at 11 a.m., at the White House Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. J.P. Lambert and the Rev. Fred Stallworth officiating.
Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. at White House Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Pallbearers will be Morgan Edge, Tanner Edge, Jordan Mixon, Zach Mixon, Justin Patton and Jason Patton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Rider and Jobo Rider.
