Gerald E., Dartt Sr., born Feb. 20, 1918 in Glayton, Mich., 91, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Joyce Goldenburg Hospice Inpatient Residence in Pensacola, Fla.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a resident of Perdido Beach after retiring from Hercules Powser in Ogden, Utah. e was the last surviving member of his generation of five brothers and two sisters.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Howard Dartt in 1986.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Doris M. Bradley Dartt of Perdido Beach; son, Gerald Dartt Jr of Rochester, N.Y.; daughter, Carol (Barry) Froling of Perdido Beach; grandchildren, Andrew Dartt of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Kevin Dartt of Binghamton, N.Y.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11 at St. Andrew’s By The Sea, Perdido Beach.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 10075 Hillview Road, Pensacola, FL 32514 or the Perdido Beach Volunteer Fire Department.
