David E. Wells, a native of Green County, N.C. and a resident of Summerdale, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.
Mr. Wells retired from the United States Navy after serving over 20 years. He was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church. He served as Sunday School Teacher, choir member, holding many offices and volunteered in numerous capacities throughout his lifetime. He was survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Maulden Wells of Summerdale; three daughters, Denise E. (Les) Stinson of Summerdale, Dawn E. (Keith) Orr of Foley, and Faith E. (David) Wilson of Summerdale; two sons, David N. Wells of Daphne, and Jonathan E. (Becky) Wells of Rosinton; three sisters, Cora Vincent of Greensboro, N.C., Christine Daughtridge, Rock Mount, N.C., Pat Holifield of Lexington, N.C.; two brothers, Walter Wells of Wilmington, N.C., Bud Wells of Farmville, N.C.; 25 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Robertsdale First Assembly of God with the Rev. Michael Lynn officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Mack Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Wynn Cemetery, Summerdale.
