David Earl Yeager, 63, born March 28, 1947 in Mobile, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 in Fairhope.

He had a love for the water and spent several years near the Gulf with homes in Gulf Shores and most recently at Dauphin Island. He loved fishing and throwing his “net” and everything to do with the Gulf waters.

He was an Air Force veteran and graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile and received his B.S. in business and management from the University of South Alabama. He started his career in Mobile working as a retail buyer for Gayfers department store.

He worked for Nortitake China company for 29 years as account executive and sales representative, in the Midwest for six years and 23 years in Atlanta, with a few years in between as owner of his own construction company in Mobile.

After Noritake, he worked in Atlanta as a sales representative for Alexander Terry associates and for the last four years at Publix Supermarkets; cashier and customer service in Marietta, Ga., for 2 ½ yrs and the last 1 ½ years at the Fairhope store as a cashier, where he cherished all the friends he made there.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Howard E. and Leila I. Yeager; and by his beloved niece, Natalie Drennen Newman.

Survivors include his wife, Ronna L Field Yeager of Dauphin Island; sons, David Neil (Wendy) Yeager and their daughter, Greenlee of Satsuma, and Kyle Allen (Michelle) Yeager and their children, Caleb and Emily of Woodstock, Ga.; brother, Howard “Butch” (Irene) Yeager of Mobile; sister, Debra (Dr Donald) Newman of Naples, Fla.; loving nieces and nephews, other relatives, dear friends in Atlanta, and Louisiana, and his Publix Supermarket “family” of friends in Fairhope.

Visitation for friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19 at Hughes Cremation & Funeral Service. A light meal will be served.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
