David Ellis White-Spunner, 59, a native of Mobile and a resident of Silverhill, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010 at a local hospital.
He was a graduate of Murphy highschool class of 1969 and the University of the South, Sewanee, Tenn., class of 1973. He spent his early years working in the horticulture industry, but later in life pursued his love of cooking as owner/head chef of Almost 6 Cafe and nutritional director for Mercy Medical in Fairhope.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Rachel White-Spunner of Mobile; three sisters, Katherine (Benny) White and Nancy (David) McGinnis, both of Charlotte, N.C., and Joan (John) Dickson of Mobile.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at All Saints Episcopal Church, Mobile. A reception will follow in the church hall.
