Roy C. Davis Jr., 88, a native of Pinson, Tenn., and a resident of Loxley for 54 years, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007.
He was a longtime and devoted member of the Loxley United Methodist Church, Lt. Governor of Loxley Optimist Club and veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army under Gen. George Patton.
He was preceded in death by sons, Larry Davis and Bob Davis and brother James D. Davis Sr.
Survivors include his wife of 72 yeas, Helen Davis of Loxley; two daughters, Edna Louise Cazalas of Belton, Texas, and Angie Mae York of Cantonment, Fla.; two sons, Joe C. (Patsy) Davis of Robertsdale and Ralph (Ann) Davis of Malakoff, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10 from the chapel of Mack Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Batchelor officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Cemetery in Robertsdale.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Loxley United Methodist Church building fund.
