DAPHNE, Ala. — The Daphne Public Library invites all area students to participate in the upcoming 2011 Poetry Contest to be held during the 13th Annual Spring into Reading Children’s Festival set for April 2.

This year’s theme is “Once Upon a Time @ the Library.” Poems must be original and should be related to the festival theme or a general library theme.  Original artwork may be used to enhance the poem. Include contact information on the back of each entry.

The poetry contest is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade and home-school students.  Achievement medals or gift cards will be awarded to the winners.  Poems may be dropped off at the library circulation desk. 

Deadline to enter the poetry contest is March 14 at 8 p.m.
