Deborah Chandler Waite, 58, a native of Mobile and a resident of Daphne, born Feb. 2, 1953 died Saturday, May 7, 2011 after a brief illness.

Known as “Sunshine” to her grandchildren, she was a very loving and doting grandmother.

As an accomplished chef, her culinary talents were enjoyed by her family and many friends.

She loved life and gave so much to others. She always did for her family and friends before herself.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Chandler; and sister Jennifer Chandler Lunceford.

Survivors include her husband and best friend of 38 years, Leroy Waite; two daughters, Tracie Waite Norman of Daphne and Leigh (Scott) Quinby of Loxley; her mother Vergia Barclay Chandler of Mobile; sister Sandra Chandler Kercher of Mobile; grandchildren, Blake Nicholas, Zachary Nicholas, Jaxson Quinby, Charlesten Quinby; several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Private family graveside burial will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, c/o St. Jude Holiday Card Program, P.O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
