Delores O. Paris, 78, of Peoria, Ill., died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born March 16, 1935 in Diamond, Ky. to James Aubrey and Fannie Agnes Wilson Oakley, she married Donald G. Paris on Aug. 10, 1952 in Sturgis, Ky. He preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2013 in Peoria.
Surviving is her daughter, Sherri Anders (Michael Schubach) of Peoria; her daughter-in-law, Deborah Paris of Foley; two grandsons, Jason (Laura) Anders of Sussex, Wis. and Jeremiah (Stephanie) Anders of Morton, Ill.; one brother, Maurice Oakley of Jefferson City, Tenn.; and seven great-grandchildren, Drew, Braden, Addison, Alexa, Norah, Jonathan and Joseph Anders.
She was preceded in death by a son, Barry Paris; a sister, Bobbie Sue Edmondson; and a great-granddaughter, Savannah Anders.
Delores worked in various areas at Illinois Central College in East Peoria.
She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
Delores enjoyed oil painting, reading, camping, fishing, cooking and traveling with Don. She also loved being a grandma.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to their supportive family at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Services for Delores will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Bill Cordes will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
