SPANISH FORT, Ala. — The next eco tour by the Delta Explorer is set for June 11, leaving the Blakeley Park dock at 9:30 a.m. and returning at 11:30 a.m. The tour is narrated by a park ranger, as the boat is piloted by a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain.
Tickets cost $22 for adults, $12 for children ages 6 to 12, and free to kids 4 to 5. Seating can be purchased at the time of the tour or may be reserved in advance by calling 251-626-5581 and paying with a major credit card. Seating is on a first come-first serve basis. The last public walk-on was sold out several days in advance of the trip.
Blakeley State Park is located on State Highway 225 about 4.5 miles north of its intersection with U.S. 31 at Spanish Fort. The Delta Explorer is also available for charter by groups by calling 251-626-0798. Blakeley Park is open daily from 9 a.m. to dusk, offering a variety of outdoor recreational experiences for individual visitors as well as tent and RV camping.
