Delta tour slated Wednesday at Blakeley State Park

SPANISH FORT — A public walk-on boat tour of the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta will be conducted by Blakeley State Park aboard its Delta Explorer Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from the park riverfront dock.

The two-hour trip aboard the 50-passenger pontoon boat features a guided tour of the unique wildlife in the rivers, bayous and coves of the Delta with sightings of birds, alligators and other wildlife. Visitors may also spend the day picnicking or touring the grounds of the 2,000-acre park.

Tickets for the walk-on are $20 for adults, $10 for children 6-12 and free for children 4 to 6. They are available on a first come-first serve basis or in advance by charge to MasterCard or Visa credit or debit cards.

Blakeley State Park is located on State Highway 225 about 4.5 miles north of U.S. 31 at Spanish Fort.

It is about a 10-minute driver from the park gate to the boat dock. The park also offers charter trips aboard the Delta Explorer for groups with a minimum of 25 adults. For information on charters call (251) 626-0798.
