Carolyn Dempsey, 67, a native and resident of Gulf Shores, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007.
She was former owner of Dempsey’s Seafood Restaurant and Dempsey Development in Gulf Shores.
Survivors include four daughters, Roberta Partain of Summerdale, Janie Sawyer of Robertsdale, Sherry Duggan of Gulf Shores and Susan Pinkard of Bloomington, Ill.; three sons, James Edward Smith of Pensacola, Fla., Frankie Smith of Gulf Shores and Michael Smith of Orange Beach; devoted friend, Bob Odom of Summerdale; seven sisters, Shirley Hendrix of Mobile, Betty Barlow of Lillian, Vickey Johnson of Grand Bay, Linda Rohe and Jackie Stringer, both of Magnolia Springs, Katherine Ward of Kiln, Miss., and Carley Martin of Florida; three brothers, Harold and Alvin Hicks, both of Mobile and Ernest Hicks Jr. of Florida; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 1040 Stanton Road, Suite D, Daphne, AL 36526.
Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
