Dennis Joseph Befay

Dennis Joseph Befay, 64, a resident of Lillian, died Sunday evening, Oct. 12, 2014, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with COPD.

He was born Sept. 27, 1950 in Green Bay Wisc. to Joseph Befay and Charlotte (Fuller) Befay.

Dennis grew up in Green Bay.

He then moved to San Jose, Calif., where he graduated in 1992 from Phillips Junior College with an associate degree in microcomputer and electronic technology.

After graduating college, he worked in the San Jose school system installing computer programs. He later moved back to the Green Bay area where he drove truck for Wisconsin Organics.

Dennis then moved to Lillian, where he did landscaping and worked at the Lillian Café, helping set up the music equipment for the bands.

Dennis had a love for music and enjoyed listening and dancing to live music. He also enjoyed watching old movies, the outdoors and working in his rose garden.

He especially liked to spend time with his family, enjoying a good meal around the table and telling funny stories of childhood times.

Survivors are his parents, Joseph and Charlotte Befay of Lillian; three brothers, James Befay, Steven (Amy) Befay and Brian Befay; a sister, Michele (Befay) Loch of Green Bay Wisc.; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 at the Church of the Advent, 12099 County Road 99 in Lillian.

Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff of South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, as well as the staff of Community Hospice for the excellent care given to Dennis.
