DAPHNE, Ala. — Daphne High School’s Agriscience Department and the Lake Forest Garden Club will celebrate their 15th year of plant sales by giving gift certificates for flats of flowers as door prizes this fall.

The two-day event will be held Saturday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. — rain or shine — at the greenhouses behind the high school on Lawson Road.

Varieties of bedding plants to be sold include pansies, petunias, dianthus, dusty miller, ornamental cabbage and kale.

Flats are priced at $9, except for the final day. A discount of $1 per flat will be given from 9 to 11 a.m., only on Nov. 10.

Garden club members will be present to assist with flower choices and students will load the flats into patrons’ vehicles.

Sale proceeds are used to support agriculture programs such as coastal restoration and environmental stewardship and to enhance community beautification.
