Diane Marie Kichler Christensen, 62, a lifelong resident of Elberta, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014.
Mrs. Christensen was a teacher with the Baldwin County Board of Education, and recently retired after more than 35 years.
She was a very devoted grandmother to her granddaughters.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Bloch Kichler.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Virgil “Rip” Christensen; daughters, Shannon Christensen and Karen (Hudson) Adams; granddaughters, Hannah and Hartley Gunderson, and Anna Adams; father, Fred Kichler; sisters, Dorothy (Jim) Hemmert and Nancy (John) Johnson; brother, Leonard (Susan) Kichler; nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until the service time.
Interment will follow in Elberta Public Cemetery.
