Louis “Sonny” DiChiara, 75, born Aug. 29, 1932 in Ensley, a resident of Loxley, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007.
He was the overnight door greeter at Wal-Mart and was loved by all for his humbleness and the compassion he showed for others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jenny DiChiara; and great granddaughter, Rebecca Griffin.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Alice DiChiara of Loxley; four daughters, Karen (Willie) Weston of Orange, Texas, Sharon (Doug) Horton of Loxley, Gloria (Steve) Marlow of Loxley and Monica (Murray) Mozingo of Silverhill; son, Mark (Amber) DiChiara of Orange, Texas; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He has left us an empty place in our hearts but has left us with a promise to meet us at the end of the road.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the Loxley Church of God. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens, Daphne.
