BAY MINETTE, Ala. – A 23-year-old Bay Minette man was convicted Thursday, March 3, of manufacturing methamphetamine – a Class A felony – and related charges, District Attorney Hallie Dixon said.
Lonnie Floyd Stacey was convicted of unlawful manufacture of controlled substance, which carries a sentence of 10 years to life. Stacey also was convicted of possession of a controlled substance, with a potential sentence of one to 10 years, and possession of drug paraphernalia, with a maximum sentence of one year.
Stacey was indicted last May.
“I am very pleased with the work of Assistant District Attorney Robert Nichols, who tried the case before Circuit Judge Robert Wilters,” Dixon said. “Stacey is a bad actor who should be taken off the streets and prevented from cooking up this dangerous drug that is poisoning too many young people and adults in our county.”
Sentencing is set for 1 p.m. April 27.
