Bobby Lee Dixon, 81, a native of Bluejacket, Okla., and a resident of Canoe for the past 43 years, died Friday, April 2, 2010 in Canoe.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruby Dixon of Canoe; two sons, Roger (Susan) Jansen of Robinsonville and David H. (Mary) Dixon of Brewton; daughter, Melissa Murph (Eddy) Crabtree of Bay Minette; five grandchildren, Ashley Keough of Orange Beach, Wendy Madden of Homewood, Keela NcNeal of Brewton, Josef Murph of Loxley and Joshua Murph of Bay Minette; and two great-grandchildren, Gabe Madden and Timothy Madden.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 4 at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside services were held Monday April 5 at the Canoe Methodist Cemetery with Elder Glenn Wardrop officiating.
Pallbearers were Rodney Helton, Mike Helton, Benny Harrellson, Mike Smith, Doug Smith and Leonard Stanley. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the VFW.
Arrangements were made by Petty Funeral Homes, LLC, Eastside Chapel, Atmore.
