DAPHNE, Ala. — Art students created abstract trees using expressive color with tempera for their “Hurricane Trees.”

Displays of these projects can be seen in the cafeteria, library, and lobby.

This week students are finishing Van Gogh-style portraits. Next, after having a class debate on the print, “Starry Night,” students will create their own project using colorful yarn for the element of line.

Gerald Moore, the owner of the Plot Shop on Route 64, is displaying five works from Daphne Middle School students each month to promote art appreciation. The five current artists of the month are:  Nicole Aglietti, Wynter Battiste, Zach Ward, Olivia Buchanan  and Adriana Comerford.

Their art will be displayed at the Plot Shop until the end of October.
