FAIRHOPE, Alabama —“Kountry Kids” is the fun-loving theme for a wonderful collection of dolls that will be on display at the 20th annual “March Fantasy” Doll & Toy Show & Sale. The event will be taking place Saturday, March 10, and is hosted by the Eastern Shore Doll Study Club of Alabama.

Each year the club shares an amazing display of dolls for the enjoyment of those in attendance. All dolls, ranging from antique to modern, featured on the stage will be from the personal collections of the 20 doll club members. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fairhope Civic Center. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children ages 6 to 12.

This year the event will feature over 25 dealers from several different states, each of whom will be selling a variety of dolls, toys and doll-related items. Dolls and toys that can be seen and purchased at the show range from older favorites, like antique bisque and composition dolls, to the popular modern vinyl dolls, like Madame Alexander and Barbie.

In attendance will also be doll artists offering handmade beauties. Cynthia Orgeron will once again be at our show to offer professional written appraisals of dolls. She has more than 30 years of experience appraising treasures of others and is delighted to be at the show again this year.

Chances may be purchased to win one of many helper prizes, including dolls and doll-related items. The winning tickets will be drawn at the end of the show, as well as for a children’s door prize awarded with the purchase of an admission ticket. The funds raised through the appraisal and helper ticket sales will benefit local food banks.

The Eastern Shore Doll Study Club meets at 1 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Delchamps Room at the Fairhope Civic Center. At each meeting, the members gather with their friends to learn about dolls, see a special monthly presentation, listen to guest speakers, and enjoy the fellowship and company of others. For more information, contact Ruth Ann Brett, club president, at (251) 980-5958.
