Donald E. Hileman, 65, a native of Robertsdale and resident of Loxley, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011.
Mr. Hileman served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era in Miramar in San Diego, Calif. Prior to that he was member of the National Guard in Fairhope and trained in Fort Benning, Ga. and Camp Shelby, Miss. He was awarded sailor of the month while serving on base in California.
Following his military career, he attended Carver Technical School in Mobile on the G.I. Bill. He owned and managed Owens Paint and Body Shop in Spanish Fort for the past 28 years. Mr. Hileman was a classic car enthusiast.
He attended the Loxley Church of God.
Mr. Hileman loved his family, and he will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Joyce Ann Kulman Hileman of Loxley; daughter, Stephanie Hileman of Loxley; two sisters, Patricia Ann (Gary) Duplisis of Summerdale and Debra Kay Wilson of Robertsdale; four brothers, Robert (Janice) Hileman of Mobile, James (Cathy) Hileman of Spanish Fort, Kenneth (Kim) Hileman of Loxley and Byron (and friend Gene Smith) Hileman of Daphne.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at 2 p.m., at the Loxley Church of God with the Rev. Herman Knapp officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Memorial, Foley.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home.
