Donald Elgie, 84, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Baldwin County, died Dec. 6, 2012 after a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Altamont, N.Y., son of the late Augustus and Lillian Elgie. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Sarvis Elgie. Survivors include his sister, Ruth Brewer; four children, Carol Elgie, Daniel (Cathy) Elgie, Cindy (Bill) Ruble and Donald (Johna) Elgie, 13 grandchildren, Cindy (Larry), Elijah, Rachel, Jacob, Kayla, Jamie, Sean, Mark (Paula), Matt (Jenna), Mike (Jessica), Catherine, Arianna and Alexis; and four great-grandchildren Xavier, Ashley, Lana and Lorelei. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Marriot Hotel in Atlanta.
