Mrs. Dora Sue Cook Owen, born Nov. 14, 1929 and died on Aug. 3, 2012.
She was a dedicated educator of children, teaching 4 grade at Bay Minette Elementary School for 34 years. A devoted wife and mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Burns Owen and one sister Irma Jo Cook Jewel. She is survived by one sister, Bobbie Jean Cook Lamb of Cottonwood; her daughter, Nathalie (David) Owen Harris of Natchez, Miss., her son, Robert (Paula) Owen of Bay Minette and four grandchildren, Will, Brad, Robby and Laura. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Bay Minette with the Dr. Henry Cox and the Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
