Doris Annette Dugger Hansen, 69, of Foley, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family and friends after a long illness.
She was born in 1941 in Summerdale, the daughter of Fred and Nellie Dugger.
She was a life-long resident of Baldwin County and owner of the Fleur-de-lis Flowers and Gifts Florist from 1984 until 2005. A creative and tireless spirit, she was known for her generous heart and amazing work ethic. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew her best.
She was a member of Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Bon Secour and she sang in the choir. She and her husband, Dean, loved to swing dance and clog. They were regular participants at the 100 Club dances.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Dean Hansen of Foley; seven children, Shawnice McCormick-Savage (Michael) of Tallahassee, Fla., Jacqueline McCormick-Hart (Dayton) of Foley, David (Leslie) McCormick of Foley, Kevin (Amy) McCormick of Elberta, Kim (Jenny) Hansen of Bay Minette, Kirk Hansen of Foley and Kirsten Hansen-Broussard (Brian) of Foley; brother Devon (Brenda) Dugger of Dallas; sister, Marilyn (Paul) Vishaway of Summerdale; and a very dear niece, Jackie (James) Setter of League City, Texas, 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and visitation were held Saturday, Oct. 9 at Pine Rest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Rest Cemetery.
