Doris Lancaster Weaver, 83, of Foley passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.

Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Cooking and baking for her family and gardening gave her much joy.

She was a registered nurse in Tuscaloosa for many years. She attended Foley United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.E. and Elizabeth Lancaster; four brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, James “Jim” Weaver; daughters, Charlotte Mills (James) of Northport, Ala. and Deborah Singley of West Monroe, La.; son, Barry Weaver (Stephanie) of Monroe, La.; sisters, Lois Champion of Tuscaloosa and Sara Odom (James) of Liberal, Kansas; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cullen Williams officiating. Burial followed in Memory Hill Gardens.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jason Mills and Robert Singley; nephews, Ronnie Miller, Larry Odom, David Lancaster and Mark Weaver.

Honorary pallbearers were friends and neighbors of Foley, Northport and Tuscaloosa, and doctors and nurses at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Foley United Methodist Church Building Fund, 915 N. Pine St., Foley, AL 36535, or the charity of one's choice.
