Doris Scott Thomas, 89, a native of Coggin, Iowa and resident of Fairhope, went home to be with the Lord and a multitude of family and friends on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Clara Scott; her sister, Joyce Clark; and two husbands, James C. Heatherly and Dayle D. Thomas.
She is survived by two daughters, Alaine Linebarger (Doug) of Gulf Shores and Marla Lumpkin (Dan) of Fairhope; a son, James Heatherly (Ann), of Powell, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren, who will cherish their memories with her and celebrate her life.
She will be buried beside her husbands in Powell, Tenn., just a mile or so from the Claxton community she and her family knew as “home.”
