Doris Virginia Knowles Thompson, 87, born in Bay Minette and a resident of Warner Robins, Ga., died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Springhill Medical Center. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Thompson (John) Stevens of Satsuma and Janis Thompson (Dennis) Todd of Richmond Hill, Ga.; three grandchildren, Derek Glenn (Alison) Ray of Jacksonville, N.C., Justin David Ray of Los Angeles, Calif. and Zachary Thomas (Mary) Lambert of Mobile; one great-granddaughter, Brooke Amber Ray of Jacksonville, N.C.; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph “Billy” Thompson.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 11:30 a.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Stockton Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 4, 2013, from 10 until the 11:30 a.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Thomas Lambert, Adrian Mitchell “Mickey” Thompson, Ron Thompson, Joey Hester, Jeffrey Hester and Ralph Knowles.
