Dorothy Biggs Little, 89, born July 24, 1922 in Lottie, and a resident of Bay Minette, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011.
She was the daughter of Ernest and Naomi Biggs, one of 10 children. She worked as a home economist with the Auburn Extension Service during the 1970s. She had a servant’s spirit, and helped needy people learn to provide for their families. She also served as a school bus driver for the Baldwin County Board of Education. She had a loving heart and an attitude of giving that lasted her entire life.
Mrs. Little is survived by six children, Carole Drew (Ralph), Fairhope; Glenda Mills (Dave) Independence, W.Va; Sheila Mullins (Gary), Daphne; Jean Bryars (Jimmy), Daphne; Fred Little Jr. (Lynda) Bay Minette; and Cathy Chandler (Mike), Bay Minette. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Biggs (Cece), Atmore, Ala.; and Ray Biggs (Dwayne), Bay Minette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. (Fred) Little; son, David Paul Little; and grandsons, Vic Bryars, Drew Waite and Daniel Little.
A celebration of life service will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 10 a.m., at Southside Baptist Church, Bay Minette, with Rev. Dr. Larry Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Lottie New Home Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wade Stewart, Chad Stewart, Matthew Little, Joby Davis, Chris Shaw and Mike Livingston.
