Dorothy Eloise Davis Harber (“Miss Dot”), 81, a native of Mobile and resident of Foley, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Mrs. Harber retired from Dollar General in 1994. She spent the next 20 years pursuing the things she loved and bringing joy to all the lives she touched. Her greatest joy of all was teaching Sunday School for over a course of 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Ivan Harber; her parents; and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, Randy (Nancy) Harber of Pensacola; daughters, Karen (Jim) McKinney of Daphne and Melissa Harber of Foley; granddaughters, Courtney McKinney of Daphne and Mardi Harber of Pensacola; great-granddaughter, Ansley Bain of Daphne; many loving nieces and nephews; and all her Sunday School children.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, March 8, 2014, from 9 until 10 a.m, at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley.

The funeral service will follow Saturday’s visitation at 10. Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in the name of Dorothy Harber to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., Seventh Floor, New York, N.Y.
