Dorothy Swain Kerin, age 88, born in Aurora, N.C. and a resident of Bay Minette, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at her residence. She was a retired owner and operator of the Southern Pig Barbeque Restaurant in Elizabeth City, N.C.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy S. White of Bay Minette, Eli N. Saleeby Jr. of Washington, N.C., George K. (Caroline) Saleeby of Fuquay Varina, N.C. and Virginia S. (Frank) Boyd of Abbeville, S.C; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Francis Kerin; son-in-law, Jerry R. White, Sr.; two brothers and one sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Agatha Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Morrison and the Rev. Jim Dane officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Norris Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Don Robinson, Steven Pryor, Robert D. “Bob” Zarr, Walter Wayne Burt, Danleigh Corbett, Paul Przyborski, Bob Wills, and Dr. Andrew Edger.
