Joseph Stephen Dorsey II, 18, a native and lifelong resident of Fairhope, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008.
He played center for the Fairhope High School football team, and was a gifted artist and guitarist who played for several community music groups.
He loved to fish and hunt with his friends and family, and was active in several youth groups.
He was a friend to all who knew him, always there with a joke or a hug for anyone who needed his special brand of warmth and humor.
Survivors include his parents, Gene and Pam Dorsey of Fairhope; sister, Carly Dorsey a student at the University of Alabama; grandmother, Barbara E. Harrington of Mobile; uncles, George Dorsey of Decatur, Ga., David (Karmen) Dorsey of Dothan; Ralph (Laura) Harrington Jr. of Mobile, Harry (Mary) Harrington of Atlanta; aunt, Shirley Jacobs of Mobile; many cousins, other relatives and numerous friends.
Visitation begins at noon with funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 at First Baptist Church of Fairhope. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Fairhope.
