Douglas F. Lowell Sr.

Douglas F. Lowell Sr., 88, a native of Point Clear and a resident of Fairhope, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at his residence.

He loved his family and farming. He was a avid mullet fisherman and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Carol Ernest Lowell, Lloyd Wayne Lowell and Dennis Eugene Lowell.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Lowell of Fairhope; daughter, Linda (Joseph) Turner of Fairhope; three sons, Doug (Stephanie) Lowell Jr., Michael (Terry) Lowell and Donald (Nancy) Lowell, all of Fairhope; two sisters, Genevieve Pierce and Doris Shull, both of Fairhope; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope with funeral services at 11 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Brook-Cedron Cemetery.
