Douglas L. Moore, 90, a native of Porterville, Miss., and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
His wife, Cora B. Moore, a native of Lauderdale, Miss., died March 10, 2011.
He was a deacon at Center Ridge Baptist Church in Kemper County, Miss.; a U.S. Coast Guard veteran; and was a former supervisor for Gulf Mobile Railroad, now Illinois Central & Gulf Railroad. After retirement he raised Brahma bulls.
She was also a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the Porterville Post office and worked at numerous florist.
They moved to Spanish Fort in 2001 to live closer to their daughter. They were members of East Pointe Baptist Church in Spanish Fort.
Survivors include daughter, Cheryl M. Rockwell of Spanish Fort; beloved pet, Casey-Girl; nieces, Linda G. Evans and Belinda Burgess; and nephew, Rodney Burgess.
A private memorial will be held.
