Joan O'Connor Dowling, 80, a native of Cappoquin, Ireland, and resident of Montrose, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at a local hospital.
Survivors include her loving husband, Dr. Edmund Dowling of Fairhope; two sons, Dr. Kyran (Dr. April Preston) Dowling of Spartanburg, S.C. and Conor Dowling of Tucker, Ga.; two daughters, Finola Dowling (Kevin) Kavanaugh of Leesburg, Va., and Deirdre Dowling of Montrose; grandchildren, Daniel Kavanaugh, Kara, Alyssa and Shannon Dowling; brother, the Rev. Donal O'Connor of Dungarvan, Ireland; and two sisters, Mary Collins and Peggy O'Brien, both of Cork, Ireland.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Christ the King School, 1503 Main St. Daphne, AL 36526.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Belforest Catholic Cemetery.
