Dr. Frank Leonard Selman, 84, a native of Birmingham, raised in Rockford and a resident of Daphne, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 in Daphne.
He was a member and a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Fairhope and proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Linnie Selman; sister, Betty Towns; and two brothers, David Selman and Charles Selman.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel R. Selman of Daphne; five sons, Frank Bingham “Bing” Selman of Indianapolis, Robert “Bob” Rowan (Sherry) Selman of Daphne, Roger Lynn (Sherry) Selman of Newport, N.C., Philip Lowe (Glenda) Selman of Gadsden and Samuel Keith (Monica) Selman of Laredo, Texas; two daughters, Spring Ander (Gordon) Lindell of Daphne and Sarrona Bell (Brian) Wilson of Spanish Fort; sister, Lois Allen of Florence; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31 from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairhope Building Fund.
