GULF SHORES, Ala. — Dr. Adrian Herren, who prefers to be called “Buster”, will be the guest speaker at the Gulf Shores First Presbyterian Church’s Men and Women’s Monthly Breakfast at 8 a.m. on March 7.
Dr. Herren and his family moved to Gulf Shores from Fort Smith, Ark., where he had served as Chief of Staff at St. Edwards Hospital before semi-retiring in 2000.
Semi-retirement has allowed him to spend more time with his family, which consists of his wife Barbara, four children and three grandchildren, and his collection of old Bibles.
Herren’s overall theme will be “How We Got the Bible”, starting with the earliest writing, which is a scroll known as the Torah, written by Moses.
He will show other scrolls and early Bibles.
“I have always had a passion for the original languages of the Bible and am very interested in Bibles in multiple languages called polyglots,” Herren said.
The First Presbyterian Church is located in Gulf Shores at 309 East 21st Ave. (one block north of Dolphin Avenue and Highway 180 on the east side of the street; parking in the rear).
Call the church at 968-7720 for further information. The public is warmly invited.
