Edith Awonga Thompson Drinkard, 81, a native of Stockton, and a resident of Bay Minette, died Monday, July 10, 2009 at her residence.
She was a retired owner-operator of The Fabric Center in Bay Minette.
She was preceded in death by her husband Everette Earl Drinkard Sr. and one grandson, Chet Anthony Bryars.
Survivors include four sons, Earl (Renay) Drinkard, Charles Drinkard, Steve (Lela) Drinkard and Wade (Gail) Drinkard, all of Bay Minette; two daughters, Edith Drinkard (Murray) Bryars and Sandra Drinkard (Carlton) Todd, both of Bay Minette; brother, Brian “Pete” Thompson of Enterprise; two sisters, Catherine Mosley and Ann Ray, both of Bay Minette; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Robbie Howard officiating. Burial was in Stockton Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Chip Drinkard, Brandon Drinkard, Tyler Drinkard, Eric Drinkard, Derrick Todd and Jeremy Todd.
