DRINKARD

Everette Earl Drinkard Sr., 83, born in Grove Hill and a resident of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 at his residence.

He worked as a fiberglass mechanic and retired from Pensacola Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla., and he also retired from Westminster Village. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and served as a deacon for 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chet Bryars and his brother, Alex Drinkard.

Survivors include his wife, Awonga Thompson Drinkard of Bay Minette; four sons, Earl (Renay) Drinkard Jr., Charles Drinkard, Steve (Lela) Drinkard and Wade (Gail) Drinkard, all of Bay Minette; two daughters, Edith (Murray) Bryars and Sandra (Carlton) Todd of Bay Minette; sister, Margaret Harbison of Bay Minette; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 15 at Green Acres Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie Howard officiating. Burial followed at Stockton Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Derrick Todd, Jeremy Todd, Eric Drinkard, Chip Drinkard, Brandon Drinkard and Tyler Drinkard.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 7701 Hitt Road, Mobile, AL 36695.

Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
