Dwight A. “Buddy” Collier, age 80, a native of Silverhill, and a resident of Ft. Payne, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012.
Collier served in the United States Navy. He was a licensed chemist and earned many accomplishments in the fields of chemistry and aerospace engineering. He was employed by N.A.S.A. and Radio Corp. of America (RCA) specifically in the Atlantic Missile Range field. He also worked for Wal-Mart for over 12 years in Foley in the electronics department, as every day was a “Beautiful Day”. He was survived by one sister-in-law, Elzie Collier of Chipley, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and his precious friends. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hail Memorial Cemetery, Robertsdale. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Mack Funeral Home and again Friday from 1-2 p.m. Special thanks to the staff of White House Assisted Living in Fort Payne, for the excellent care given to Buddy.
