Samantha Dyess, 16, a native of Pensacola, Fla., and a resident of Elberta, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009.
She was a student at Foley High School. She was on the varsity volleyball team and was a member of the National Honor Society. She enjoyed hunting, four wheeler riding, and mudding.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Donnie Dyess.
Survivors include her mother, Suzanne (Don) Miller of Elberta; her father, David Dyess of Castleberry; sister, Tiffany (James) Cooper of Orange Beach; her grandparents, Ray and Ann Butler of Repton, and Jane Dyess of Catleberry; one niece, Trinity; and one nephew, Cameron. She had many friends and was a friend to many.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 27 at Orange Beach United Methodist Church. Interment will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Elberta.
