Hilda Gustavia Dykes, 91, died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Robertsdale Health Care Center.
She was born Oct. 16, 1918 in Theodore and resided most of her adult life in Mobile and Silverhill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. and Vandina Miller Tillman; her husband of 59 years, Joseph R. Dykes; three siblings, Ruby Tillman Capps, Mamie Tillman Palmer and Bessie Tillman Davis.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph C. Dykes of Wilmer and Billy S. (Helen) Dykes of Foley; brother, Robert C. Tillman of Montgomery; grandchildren, Susan (Dave) Guerin of Warrenton, Va., and Joseph R. (Patty) Dykes of Summerdale; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Agnes (Leo) Strachan of Theodore and Elaine (Don) Wright of Magnolia Springs, Vernon Capps of Coden and Waite (Jennifer) Dykes of Huntsville.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 27 at Silverhill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joseph Dykes, Justin Dykes, Leo Strachan, Don Wright, Vernon Capps and Terry Armstrong.
Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
