E. Geoffrey Jeffreys, age 89, born in Manhattan, N.Y. and a longtime resident of Mobile, Daphne and Fairhope, Ala., passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015.

Mr. Jeffreys earned a geological engineer degree from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colo., in 1951 and was a self-employed petroleum consultant.

Geoff was a combat veteran of WWII, a Mason, Shriner and Comic Cowboy. He held memberships in many professional associations and societies.

While living in Mobile, he attended Trinity Episcopal Church where he was a vestryman and a senior warden. In Daphne, he was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra H. Jeffreys of Fairhope; daughter, Jeri Lynn Mauldin (William) of Highlands, N.C.; son, David Powell Jeffreys (Deborah) of Madison, Miss.; four grandchildren, Kelsey and Trevor Durrett, Elliott Geoffrey and Nicholas Price Jeffreys; many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 at 2 p.m.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service begins.

Interment will be held at a later date in St. James Episcopal Church columbarium in Jackson, Miss.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church-Eastern Shore, 28788 N. Main St., Daphne, AL 36526, or the charity of your choice.
