Earl Howard "Pookie" Turner, age 63, born in Atmore, Ala., and a resident of Theodore, Ala., died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at his residence.

He was a gauge calibrator (retired) at Teledyne Continental Motors. He is survived by his wife, Frances C. (Carroll) Turner of Theodore; his children; Tracey Lee (Windle Jernigan) Maddox of Bay Minette, Becky Ann Weaver of Bay Minette, Jimmy Earl (Becky) Turner of Perdido, Ala., and Angela Nicole (Scotty) Barnett of Rabun; four stepdaughters, Carolyn (Steven) Creel of Biloxi, Miss., Danielle Garrison of Mobile, Jennifer (Ronald) Nall of Atmore, and Sharon (Heath) Grubbs of Mobile; three brothers, Willie Ned Turner of New Canton, VA, Gray Turner of Perdido, and Jerry Turner of Mobile; two sisters, Mattie Byrd of Bay Minette, and Fannie Mae Jones of Whatley, Ala.; eleven grandchildren, Kyndal Rose Maddox, Cory Maddox, Hunter Weaver, Lane Weaver, Emily Weaver, Scott Dyson, Logan Turner, Andrew Turner, Bradley Barnett, Noah Barnett and Annalee Barnett and eight step- grandchildren, David Mosley, Austin Terrell, Christine Mosley, Stormie Switzer, Destiny Strange, Douglas Doll, Carmen Nall and Lilley Kay Nall and a number of friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Carl Turner, two sisters, Mary Williamson and Betty Gray and his parents, Joe Turner and Willie Pritchett Hudson. The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Reverend James Peacock, the Reverend Bob Willis and Bob Burtnett officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
