Earle Edwards Murphy, age 89, a native of New Landon, CT and a resident of Summerdale, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012.
He served in the Army in WWII as an MP. He was a Probation Officer for the State of Connecticut of most of his civilian career. In his retirement, he loved to travel with his motor home and enjoyed a good game of pickle ball where he lived at the Rainbow Plantation in Summerdale.
Murphy is survived by three sons, Earle E. Murphy III of San Francisco, Bruce D. Murphy of Monson, Ma., and Steven J. Murphy of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; one daughter, Susan E. Flynn of Brimfield, Ma., seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in his home state of Connecticut.
